Stomach Bug Hits Again

It started Friday night/Saturday morning with Declan, who apparently is a silent vomiter.  You know it's happened after the fact with him, which is bad news because he's two and can't understand the concept of choosing where you throw up ... like a bucket, trash can, tile floor, NOT carpet.  In fact, he'd thrown up in the middle of the night, and I had no clue at all.

Then Saturday night it hit Shelby.  By lunch the next day she was eating ... small amounts, but she was eating.

Then nothing happened until Tuesday morning.  Poor Payden.  She got it, and she got it good.  Tuesday was a rough day for her.  She perked up on Wednesday and started eating in small amounts.  Today, we've been back to square one.  She can't hardly keep anything down.  I hope she can recover soon.  Three days is too long and is starting to scare me a bit.

Poor baby!!!

Discovery!

He was outside coloring while I was cooking.  I went to check on him, and he was babbling about O.  Then he tells me, "I draw T," and draws a T.  He's discovered he can write, and he LOVED it!

His masterpiece!

H O T
First letters and first word

R

"Not-a-K" I
He decided to write a K ... didn't work out so well for him.

C Q

A

Taylor came out to see what was going on and got super excited to join in and help him out.  She got him to draw 6 and 7.

6

7 (It looks like a backward C right by her 7.)

He decided to demonstrate this picture as he drew it.

A frowny face

He was on fire and super excited.

I can't believe he can write.  Where did my baby go?!?!

Near Record Lows!!!

NEAR RECORD LOWS!!!  For Texas, that only meant upper 40s and low 50s, but it was WONDERFUL!!!  Cool, brisk mornings.  Notice I said morningS.  I miss them so much!!  We just had to head outside and enjoy it.  Of course, the kiddos are now Texans and told me it was cold, so we grabbed our jackets and headed outside.

Ain't nothing wrong with a pink, sparkly, glittery princess scooter!

This girl is fast on this thing.  I love watchin' her wiggle around.

We discovered some creepy, crawly things around the house while we were out there ...

Big spider with a glowing red dot on it in the front flowerbeds by the porch.

The shed skin of a snake in the back flowerbeds by the garage.

I am very thankful for this little bit of cold as we've already hit summer.

It Only Took 35 Years

Can you tell what's different about him?  It's a first, and I like it ... A LOT!

He grew himself a mustache and a beard.  Yay, Tommy Boy!!

And It's Outta There!!

She is crazy! She won't let us quickly knock her tooth out, but she was willing today to let her dad ...

Give her sleepy gel ...

Give her sleepy juice (i.e. syringe of anesthetic) ...

Pull it out with forceps (took only a second) ...

Show her the tooth ...

Bite on gauze to stop the bleeding (she does NOT like blood) ...

And it was outta there (and Dad is happy)!

LOVE the smile!!!!

Through it all, she sat there quietly and didn't move at all.  She was a CHAMPION!!

Breakfast is Served

You see them flying in the air, making those slow circles over and over again, but I've never seen them on the ground in action before until this year.  This is the second pair I've seen in our neighborhood.  I drove right past these two vultures on the way to church, flipped around, took pictures, flipped around and drove by them again, and still they just kept going at it.  They kinda give me the heebie jeebies.
