FINALLY!!!! One Down and One to Go

Her story goes something like this, "Mom knocked my tooth and made it all twisted, so Dad had to take it out."

That's not how the story goes.  It started last Sunday when Tom tried to bribe her to let him take out her front teeth.  As he was driving to Laredo, Taylor got out of bed and ended up having a melt down for 30-45 minutes because she didn't want to go to bed until her teeth were out because she wanted the things Tom had bribed her with, but she had to get her teeth out that night in order to get the bribes.  Well, the problem was she didn't want me anywhere near her mouth, so I could knock them out.  It was a horrible night.  Fortunately, I eventually got her to calm down and go to bed.  After that I decided, I would let the darn things come out on their own; maybe encourage her to wiggle them here and there, but that was it.  I was done with the drama.

After that would incident, would I have hit her in the mouth?  NO!!!  What REALLY happened was ... I was on Payden's bed (a trundle bed) and Taylor was on the bed above me.  She was messing around and started to fall off the bed and landed on my raised hand ... with her mouth.  Of course, her tooth hit my knuckles and twisted all funky in her mouth, so that she had no other option but to have Dad take her tooth out.

If you look at her right front tooth, the bottom of the tooth is actually on the right side.  The tooth twisted 90 degrees in her mouth, yet stayed connected.

She immediately started screaming, but knew she had to let Dad take it out.  It came out in a flash; it definitely took much longer for Tom to calm her down than to get the tooth out.

Payden trying to be helpful during the whole process by climbing on Tom.

In the end, of course she was super excited to have lost her tooth and earned one of the bribes ... ice cream at Cold Stone (although it ended up being Maggie Moo's because Cold Stone is no longer in Houston).

The cause of the whole drama ... one little tooth.
Now I can't wait for the other tooth to come out to have that cute toothless grin!
